The Secret Garden Bed & Breakfast is located in the historic district of downtown Kingston, Ontario, just a few blocks from the bustling waterfront, fine restaurants, quaint boutiques, museums and art galleries, Lake Ontario and Queen's University.
Guests of the inn will enjoy the romantic charm of this lovingly restored Queen Anne Victorian home, built in 1888. The fireplaces, beautiful stained glass windows and interesting architectural details reflect a quiet elegance.
The guest parlor features a fireplace, bay window, exquisite chandelier and candelabra, and comfortable seating for conversation or relaxation. The flicker of candlelight and soft music welcome guests to a full complimentary breakfast served in a beautiful oak paneled dining room with stained glass windows. Menus vary daily, including chilled juice, seasonal fruit dishes, delicious entrees, homemade coffee cake or muffins, and great coffee and teas. Guests are invited to curl up in front of the fireplace with a good book from the varied collection in the library. An ideal place to enjoy the outdoors at the inn is the courtyard garden with wrought iron furniture and fountain. The sound of water, scent of flowers and warm breezes create a relaxing 'Secret Garden.' The old fashioned front porch, furnished with a porch swing, and wicker loveseats and rockers, is the perfect spot to start the day with an early cup of coffee or a cool drink in the afternoon sun. Afternoon refreshments of coffee, tea and cookies are offered daily.
All guestrooms have central air conditioning, cable television and high speed Internet access. Some guestrooms have a fireplace. Each room is uniquely furnished and decorated. The Turret Room features a queen poster bed, private bathroom with shower, lovely sitting area in the turret, and a two sided fireplace.
