Location. Overlooking the turquoise waters of Laguna Nichupte and the Caribbean, the Royal Sands Resort and Spa is a beachfront resort in the lively resort city of Cancun, Mexico. Located on the northeastern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula, Cancun has become one of the most popular vacation destinations in the Caribbean. Ideally situated near many of Mexico's Mayan ruins, Cancun also offers plenty of recreational activities like windsurfing, parasailing and boogie boarding. Two golf courses are within proximity of the property and there are many places to play beach volleyball. Due to its location, the waters near the resort are generally calm and perfect for swimming.
Hotel Features. The resort features an outdoor pool with a poolside bar and a sports center providing tennis and snorkeling equipment, volleyballs, beach towels and board games. The health spa offers a number of body and facial treatments, as well as beauty services, a sauna and massages. La Veranda serves salads, pasta, steak, salmon and seafood indoor or on the terrace overlooking the pool. A breakfast buffet is available for a surcharge. A business center is located on site and dial up Internet access is available for a fee. There are safe deposit boxes located at the 24 hour front desk, and the staff can assist with tour planning, currency exchange, concierge and wedding services.
Guestrooms. Accommodations vary from hotel rooms to two bedroom villas, each with cable television, VCRs and CD stereos. Deluxe rooms, suites and villas are outfitted with balconies and kitchens featuring cooktops, microwave ovens and refrigerators. In room safes protect valuables and dial up Internet access is offered.
Expert Tip. A small bullring, Plaza de Toros, is located downtown. Bullfights take place every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. This property requires a seven night minimum stay with check in and check out on Saturday only.
