Location. Overlooking the blue waters of the Caribbean, The Royal Mayan enjoys a convenient setting in sunny Cancun, Mexico. Located on the northeastern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula, Cancun has become one of the most popular vacation destinations in the Caribbean. Ideally situated near many of Mexico's Mayan ruins, Cancun also offers plenty of recreational activities like windsurfing, parasailing and boogie boarding. Two golf courses are within proximity of the property and there are many places to play beach volleyball. Due to its location, the waters near the resort are generally calm and perfect for swimming.
Hotel Features. The multi building hotel is one of five resorts which share facilities, and complimentary shuttle service transports guests between them. Complimentary sailing and swimming lessons are available, and there are scuba diving demonstrations most days. The sports center offers complimentary bicycles, snorkeling gear, tennis rackets and golf clubs. The large outdoor pool features a swim up bar and a restaurant adjacent to it, La Palapa, that serves Mexican and American fare with buffets, theme nights and, occasionally, live entertainment. El Conquistador is a fine dining establishment serving international cuisine, steaks and seafood, and featuring live guitar music.
Guestrooms. Accommodations feature private, furnished balconies and full kitchens with refrigerators, dishwashers, microwave ovens and ranges. Other amenities include VCRs and in room safes.
Expert Tip. A small bullring, Plaza de Toros, is located downtown. Bullfights take place every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
