The Stone Gables Bed & Breakfast occupies half of a 12,000 square foot mansion from 1883, and has been historically restored. The 12 foot ceilings, numerous fireplaces and abundance of antiques from Belguim, Paris and the US create an atmosphere of a bygone era. The interior decorating combines historic elegance with modern comfort. There are plush overstuffed couches and numerous sittings rooms. Guests can relax on the fainting couch in the front parlor while listening to music from the player grand piano. The upper sitting room has a very eclectic library, games and even a PlayStation 2. A complimentary elegant gourmet breakfast is served in the dining room, which is accented by an Art Nouveau court cabinet and serving buffet. Breakfast may include one of the owner's recipes, such as dark chocolate waffles with Frangelica cream and hot fudge, carrot cake waffles, French toast, fresh berry crumb cake or Eggs Benedict.
