Location. Just outside of Gatlinburg, Tenn., within five miles of Dollywood, sits the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort. These rustic, lodge style accommodations are adjacent to the densely wooded forests of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with trails leading directly from the guest cabins. Within Gatlinburg and nearby Pigeon Forge, guest can find a dazzling selection of Vegas style revues, arts and crafts, country souvenir shops and regional dining options. Recreational activities abound in the area, including hiking, biking, golf and whitewater rafting.

The lobby at the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort compliments the mountainous area surrounding the property with plenty of natural wood highlights, leather furniture and a stone fireplace and flooring. This smoke free resort offers guests a health and fitness facility, and meeting facilities. Guests can enjoy two heated outdoor pools, each accompanied by a six person hot tub. There is a marketplace/grocery store on site, laundry facilities, supervised children's activities and the resort has its own stables.
Guestrooms. The log cabin styled accommodations exude a rustic mountain air from the exterior, yet provide guests with modern amenities and comfort on the interior. Different set ups are available, ranging from studios to one and two bedroom condos. Some units feature stone fireplaces and garden spa tubs in the master bathroom. All units have kitchenettes or full kitchens with microwave ovens, refrigerators and dishwashers. Other amenities include DVD players, air conditioning, dial up Internet access and cable television with premium channels.
Expert Tip. The highest point in the Smoky Mountains is Clingman's Dome at 6,642 feet, which features fantastic panoramic views of the range.
