Location. The Mountain Shadows Resort is located within the city limits of Gatlinburg, Tenn., in a private wooded area of the city. The resort offers a tranquil atmosphere, and guests will find that they cannot get a resort closer to the beautiful Smoky Mountains. The resort is within three miles of downtown, where all Gatlinburg restaurants and attractions are within easy reach.

Every cabin comes with wooden rockers and a private hot tub on the porch, and the exteriors are often accented in stone. Expert Tip. The highest point in the Smoky Mountains is Clingman's Dome at 6,642 feet, which features fantastic panoramic views of the range.
